My First Film

The Glade
Three teenage friends Jack, Michael, and Liam go wild-camping in the English countryside, but their journey turns sour when they enter a dense forest. Strange sounds, unsettling discoveries, and growing tension lead to a chilling night in the woods.
Since childhood, I’ve been creating short videos and films with friends and family, but The Glade marks my first serious venture into short filmmaking. I drew inspiration from David Bruckner’s The Ritual and the now-iconic The Blair Witch Project. My passion for the outdoors and camping sparked the idea for the story. The whole script and story took around a month to complete, after I had the story needed to put together a cast and crew. Theo (A close friend I frequently camp with) played a formal role as co-director of photography and editor; together he helped me plan several shots I had imagined, helping the voyeur style shots I had envisioned not feel too spaced out while still feeling like a spectator, taking visual cues from films like 'The Seventh Seal' and 'Konopielka' that left a lasting impression on me, which lead to me using some of the shots as inspiration. The cast of actors had no prior acting experience but they all gave their best performances and did their bests with my script. The music was largely by Sigur Ros, Alex Somers and Other Nothing.

Some short videos
In this video I experimented with my sound editing, I downloaded mp3 files online and layered them to create a realistic soundscape along with the track playing over the top.
About Me
Over the past few years, I’ve developed numerous film ideas, several of which I have transformed into screenplays. One of these was my A-level coursework film, The Glade. Currently, I am engaged in multiple projects that will be produced as short films.

As an aspiring student filmmaker, I am passionate about storytelling through visual media. My goal is to create compelling narratives that resonate with audiences and leave a lasting impact. Explore my portfolio to witness the power of storytelling through words and the screen.
